*NOW CLOSED* Launceston adult mental health centre: EOI open
Posted on March 16, 2021
Primary Health Tasmania has taken the next step in development of the new Launceston Adult Mental Health Centre, opening an expression of interest (EOI) process to help identify a lead agency.
The lead agency will work with Primary Health Tasmania, local service providers, lived experience representatives and other stakeholders to develop and deliver activities from the centre.
The EOI process is open until Monday 29 March, and will be followed by a Request for Tender process.
Full details of the EOI process are available by registering on our eTender portal.
Background
The Australian Government is funding a trial of eight adult mental health centres across Australia, with one to be established in each state and territory.
Launceston has been chosen as the location for the Tasmanian centre, which will aim to improve access to mental health and related support services for Tasmanians in the local area; connect care; and reduce demand on hospital emergency departments. It will be a welcoming, safe, and easy-to-identify entry point for adults in distress or crisis who need immediate care, support or information.
Primary Health Tasmania (Tasmania PHN) will be responsible for establishing the Launceston centre.
More information about development of the centre is available on our online engagement portal.
