Launch of the Rethink 2020 Implementation Plan
Posted on August 19, 2021
Primary Health Tasmania is pleased to share in the launch of the plan to translate Rethink 2020‘s vision — a Tasmanian community where all people have the best possible mental health and wellbeing — into action.
The release of the Rethink 2020 Implementation Plan on Thursday 19 August follows the December 2020 unveiling of Rethink 2020: Tasmania’s mental health plan, representing a shared approach to improving mental health outcomes for all Tasmanians.
Much like Rethink 2020 itself, the Implementation Plan is the result of a collaborative effort, and was jointly developed by the Primary Health Tasmania, the Department of Health, Tasmania and the Mental Health Council of Tasmania. The Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drug Leadership Group also provided valuable guidance and input.
The Implementation Plan maps out current and future mental health reform activities (such as encouraging ethical reporting of mental illness, support better integration of key parts of the mental health system, and providing services across a continuum of care) and cites which organisation is leading each action, and the anticipated timeframes.
To ensure currency and relevance, the Implementation Plan will be reviewed and updated annually throughout the 2021-2025 span of Rethink.
