Upcoming tender for mental health services (pilot)
Posted on July 15, 2026
Primary Health Tasmania will release an open tender shortly for the delivery of multidisciplinary mental health services in the Glamorgan Spring Bay and West Coast local government areas.
Funded by the Australian Government as part of a time-limited pilot program, these services will support people with complex mental health needs through multidisciplinary care delivered within primary care settings.
The service model will bring together a team of health professionals, with general practice providing care coordination and supporting shared care.
There will be opportunities for partnership with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) where they deliver health services within the relevant communities.
By embedding mental health care within primary care, the services aim to improve access to integrated, person-centred support for people living in rural and remote communities.
This initiative responds to challenges including limited access to coordinated care, workforce constraints and fragmented service delivery, helping ensure people can access the right care closer to home.
The services will be funded to June 2028.
Primary Health Tasmania will manage the tender through its eTender portal. Registration is free – instructions are available on our website here.
All tender documentation and communications relating to the tender will be available through the eTender portal once the tender opens.
