Primary Health Tasmania is partnering with Black Dog Institute to deliver a workshop focussed on increasing capacity of Health professionals in responding to patients with suicide risk. This 3-hour online workshop aims to increase skills and confidence in recognising presentations where suicide risk is high, undertaking a detailed risk assessment and management planning using a collaborative, team-based approach.

This workshop is CPD accredited with RACGP and ACRRM for 1 hour of Reviewing Performance and 2 hours of Educational Activity

Learning outcomes: 

  • Undertake a suicide risk assessment effectively
  • Develop a collaborative safety plan
  • Provide effective management following a suicide attempt

Speaker information: 

Nicole Prendergast is a Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Neuropsychologist with over 20 years’ experience in mental health. Nicole has worked collaboratively with adults, children and families presenting with complex mental health disorders and health conditions. Nicole has worked in the public and private mental health sectors as both a Psychologist and Registered Nurse. She works with clients offering treatment using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Dyadic Development Psychotherapy.
